A Lightweight Authentication With Privacy-Preserving Scheme for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks Based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Vehicle in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) broadcasts beacons about their traffic status wirelessly for improving safety and efficiency. Before deployment of the VANET system, problems related to security privacy should be carefully addressed. In this article, we propose a lightweight authentication with conditional privacy-preserving scheme guaranteeing secure communication VANET. The proposed is suitable addressing issues because it combines tamper-proof device (TPD) based schemes roadside unit (RSU) schemes. Based on elliptic curve cryptography, preloads initial public parameters keys system each TPD RSU instead on-border (OBU). Furthermore, not only achieve requirements but also resists common attacks. performance evaluation shows that has lower cost compared other existing terms computation cost.
